The V-STARS D system offers high-speed, real-time 3D measurement from multi-camera configurations comprising DynaMo D5 cameras.
V-STARS D is a V-STARS M system, ie an optical CMM, which is configured with multiple high-speed DynaMo D5 or D12 cameras. An alternative V-STARS M system configuration uses INCA4 cameras. V-STARS D supports a measurement rate from 3 Hz (D12) to 10 Hz (D5). The DynaMo cameras are the latest innovation in remotely operated industrial photogrammetry from GSI. These cameras are very light weight and compact, they incorporate a low visibility flash system and a positive pressure ‘dust off’ system, and they possess wide fields of view and large operating ranges.
A two-camera V-STARS D5 system offers a measurement accuracy of 14µm + 14µm/m (1:60,000@4m, 0.07mm@4m or 0.0028”@160”) with either of the two DynaMo D5 lens options of Medium (58°x50°) and a Wide Angle (72°x62°).
A two-camera V-STARS D12 system offers a measurement accuracy of 10µm + 10µm/m (1:80,000@4m, 0.05mm@4m or 0.0020”@160”) with the DynaMo D12 wide angle lens options (72°x58°).
V-STARS D systems are ideal for in-place, real-time operation where cameras are positioned within a fixed, measurement cell configuration for extended periods of time. Thus the system is well suited to high-speed dynamic monitoring of object movement and deformation, as well as to repeat inspection within an assembly line environment.
The DynaMo D5 can also function in a single-camera V-STARS S mode to produce measurement accuracy of 7µm + 7µm/m (1:120,000 @ 4m), while the DynaMo D12 can produce measurement accuracy of 5µm + 5µm/m (1:160,000 @ 4m) in V-STARS S mode.
V-STARS has been fully tested and validated in accordance with the VDI/VDE 2634 standard for optical 3D measurement systems.
